7a. Using the Profile: Photoshop Setup
When working with ICC profiles in Photoshop, it is critical that Photoshop is first set up properly. Here is a recommended setup for
Photoshop's Color Settings dialog:
Dialog items of particular interest:
- Select a normal RGB working space, such as Adobe RGB (1998) or sRGB. Do not select your monitor profile!
- In order to facilitate subsequent color editing, conversion into the RGB working space is recommended.
- If an image from your camera or scanner has an embedded profile — but the wrong one — this will give you the chance to
discard the unwanted profile.
- If an image from your camera or scanner does not have an embedded profile, this will give you the chance to assign your custom input profile.
